Welcome
The
Glastonbury Chorus is a four part (SATB) group of men and women which
began its journey of song in 1985. We are a non-profit
organization that serves our community with music.
We offer two
concerts a year and also perform at area nursing homes and community
events. While membership does not require an audition, we pride
ourselves on high quality and enjoyable musical
performances. These are a reflection of our love of music and our
dedicated efforts throughout each concert season.
Come meet the Chorus - April 4th at 7pm
The
Glastonbury Chorus will host a
“meet and greet” for prospective new members at 7 PM on
Wednesday, April 4 at
BackBeat City, 60 Eastern Boulevard, Glastonbury. Light
refreshments will
be served.
The
reception will give interested
adult singers the opportunity to talk with director Greg Colossale and
current
Chorus members about the fun and the challenge of choral
singing.
Guests will be invited to observe – or even participate in
– the rehearsal of a
couple of songs that the Chorus is currently preparing for its May 6th
concert.
Singers
who are least 18 years old
are sought in all voice parts – soprano, alto, tenor, and
bass.
Auditions
are not required, just a love of music and the desire to perform.
Chorus members come from all over the greater Hartford area, with the
preponderance of singers coming from towns east of the river.
Weekly
rehearsals take place during the school year on Wednesdays from 7:00 to
9:00 at
Smith Middle School. Contact Us
if you are interested or require more information.
Spring Concert Information
Our next performance will be the Spring Concert at Gideon Welles
on Sunday, May 6th at 4:00pm. Tickets are
available at the door and we sponsor a Foodshare collection at every
concert so bring your love of music, some non-perishable food
items and come join us.
